Tour Sacred Valley of the Incas

Our journey begins at approximately 7:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we will travel toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region surrounded by mountains that played an important role during the Inca Empire because of its fertile lands, reliable water sources, and strategic location.

Our first stop will be the Pisac Archaeological Complex, built along the slopes of a mountain and offering expansive views of the valley.

One of its most impressive features is its extensive system of agricultural terraces, designed to make use of steep terrain, manage water more efficiently, and expand the land available for cultivation. During the visit, you will also explore different archaeological sectors that help explain how the Incas organized agricultural, residential, and ceremonial spaces.

We will then descend to the town of Pisac, where we will visit its traditional artisan market. Here you will find textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and a variety of handmade products created by local artisans. It is an opportunity to experience the contemporary side of the Sacred Valley and discover traditions and activities that continue to be part of everyday local life.

We will continue to Urubamba, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Thanks to its fertile soil, favorable climate, and access to water, this area has been one of the valley’s main agricultural regions since ancient times, producing crops that remain an important part of the Andean diet.

Here, we will take a break to enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a variety of Peruvian and local flavors. You will be able to choose from salads, soups, hot dishes, side dishes, and desserts, enjoying a culinary experience that complements your visit to one of the Sacred Valley’s most important agricultural areas.

After lunch, we will continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most emblematic towns in the Sacred Valley. Its narrow stone streets, water channels, and traditional urban layout still preserve part of the structure inherited from Inca times, offering a clear example of how the region’s past continues to be part of everyday life.

The town is home to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Complex, regarded as an important fortress and one of the main strategic centers of the Inca period. Its impressive terraces rise along the mountainside and lead to ceremonial areas built with enormous stone blocks, some of which were transported from quarries located across the valley. During the visit, you will explore different sections of the complex and learn how the Incas combined defensive, ceremonial, agricultural, and territorial functions, creating one of the finest examples of planning and engineering in the Sacred Valley.

Our final stop will be the Chinchero town, an ancient settlement associated with the Inca period where several stages of Andean history can still be seen in the same place.

Here, you will find Inca walls and terraces alongside structures from later periods, creating a landscape where the pre-Hispanic past, the colonial era, and the daily life of present-day communities come together.

Chinchero is also well known for its important textile tradition. We will visit a local textile center where you will learn about part of the traditional weaving process, including the washing of the wool, the creation of colors using natural materials, and weaving techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation and continue to be preserved by the local community.

After experiencing the textile traditions of Chinchero, we will begin our return to Cusco. Arrival is expected at approximately 6:00 p.m., bringing our journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to an end.
