Tour Overview

This is an exclusive 7-day tour where tourists can enjoy the customs, art and culture of each city visited. We will start our tour in the Peruvian capital Lima, making a city tour through the city. Next day we will continue our journey visiting one of the most visited cities in America “Cusco” where we will take a guided tour of the most important points of the city. We will also make a pleasant and unique excursion to Moray and the famous salt marshes of Maras. And as final destinations we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the imposing Machu Picchu.

DAY 1

Airport - Hotel Lima (Buy your flights with arrival in Lima at the time of your choice)

According to your flight schedule, our team will receive you at the airport and we will go to your hotel in Lima.

You will have the afternoon free to explore the different places in Lima on your own.

IMPORTANT TIPS

We suggest you take advantage of the day to visit the most beautiful places in Miraflores. Visit Kennedy Park, also known as the Cat Park; a short walk will take you to the beautiful Parque del Amor, where you can spend a quiet moment, you can walk along the beautiful Miraflores Malecon, from where you can see the Pacific Ocean, and finally you can go shopping in Larcomar, a class shopping center World, located on a cliff overlooking the sea.

DAY 2

Lima City Tour (Modern, Colonial and Convent of Santo Domingo) - 03h30m tour

In the morning we will make the circuit through the city of Lima, where we will visit the best attractions of Lima in its three historical periods:

Modern Lima: We will make a stop at the Intihuatana Park , located on the Malecon de Miraflores , from where we will observe the Pacific Ocean. We will begin our tour through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will observe outside the Huaca Pucllana , a pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the form of a pyramid that has survived the urban expansion of Lima. We will continue our journey to the Parque del Olivar and the Financial Center .

Colonial Lima: Our tour will continue towards the Historic Center of Lima , declared by UNESCO in 1991 Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where the center of the Spanish colony was established in the 16th century and the first buildings were erected. We will know the Plaza San Martín , its balconies and old houses, the Plaza Mayor and its most important buildings such as the Government Palace , the Lima Cathedral , the Archbishop's Palace , the Municipal Palace , the Desamparados Station , among others.

Convent of Santo Domingo: We will enter one of the most important convents of the 17th century. Where the relics of the three most important Peruvian saints are preserved: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martin de Porres and San Juan Macías.

At the end of our tour, you will have the option of staying in the Indian Market , in Larcomar or returning to your hotel.

IMPORTANT TIPS

We recommend visiting the picturesque district of Barranco and visiting the famous Bridge of Sighs, the legend says that before passing it for the first time we must make a wish and if we spend it holding our breath, our wish will be fulfilled.

We recommend visiting Av. Petit Thouars, where you will find several themed markets from different regions of Peru. I highly recommend the "Indian Market".

As for food, in Miraflores you will find several restaurants with delicious Creole and marine food (Rosa Nautica, Huaca Pucllana). If you like Brazilian food, you can visit the Ponto Brasil restaurant. Our consultants can indicate the best restaurant options according to your preferences.

DAY 3

Lima - Airport - Cusco (Buy flights Lima - Cusco with arrival time of your choice)

According to the schedule of your flight, we will make your transfer from your hotel to the Lima airport.

Upon arrival in Cusco, our team will meet you at the airport and we will go to your hotel, where you will have a welcome with the famous Coca Tea.

You will have the afternoon free to acclimatize.

The city of Cusco is at an altitude of 3,399 meters above sea level

IMPORTANT TIPS

We suggest you take advantage of the day to get to know the varied museums of the city: Inka Museum, Machu Picchu Museum, Regional Historical Museum, Chocolate Museum, Museum of Popular Art, Qoricancha Museum, Coca Leaf Museum, among others.

You can also stroll through the streets of the picturesque San Blas neighborhood, the craftsmen's neighborhood, and enjoy its art that is inspired by the Cusqueña School of Art considered one of the most important and original artistic movements in the Americas.

Another place to visit is the San Pedro market, where you will find many beautiful things to take away, in addition to local products and the customs of the villagers (Very low prices)

Another place not to be missed is the Qosqo Center for Native Art, a music and dance show typical of the region, it is a true show. The show starts at 6:00 p.m., but we suggest you arrive at least 40 minutes in advance to queue, as it is a very busy place. If you have the general tourist ticket you will have free admission. Entrance ticket: S / 25.00 per person.

Regarding the food, in the Plaza de Armas you will find several restaurants with delicious typical food (Chicha, Tunupa), when you meet our representative at the airport ask for the restaurant “Cholos Grill” is in Plateros street, very good prices .

DAY 4

Cusco City Tour (Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) - 05 hrs tour

This day you will know the best places in Cusco and the surrounding area.

We will start with the Cathedral , located in the Plaza de Armas, it is the main church of the imperial city, it was built on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The Cathedral has more than 300 paintings from the Cusco art school.

Then we will visit the Qoricancha , in the Quechua language means “temple of gold”, it was the first temple built by the Incas, it was formerly covered with large amounts of gold and silver.

We will leave the city of Cusco and arrive at the Saqsayhuaman complex , famous for its huge lithic blocks of more than 150 tons. In the Inca era the temple was considered to lightning, "the god Illapa".

Next, we will visit the temple of Q'enqo , a place dedicated to the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can appreciate carved stone constructions.

Then we will arrive at the impressive Inca fort Puka Pukara , in the Quechua language it means Red Fortress.

Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay , where we will see the sacred temple dedicated to the cult of water that probably also had a purification bath function for the Inca rulers.

At the end of the afternoon we will return to Cusco, where we will leave you at your hotel or if you prefer in the Plaza de Armas.

IMPORTANT TIPS

The City Tour will start in the afternoon. You will have the morning free. Start it by having a good coca tea at breakfast and prepare yourself with a good pair of trekking shoes, as it will be a great help. We suggest getting to know the Plaza de Armas with its colonial temples, the Regional Historical Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Qoricancha Museum and the Museum of Popular Art. These places will make your visit even more unforgettable.

DAY 5

Sacred Valley of the Incas - Aguas Calientes (Awanacancha, Pisaq, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo) - 08 hrs tour

This day you will know the wonderful Sacred Valley of the Incas also called the Vilcanota Valley .

We will start the day visiting the artisan center of Awanacancha , observe the famous llamas, have the opportunity to talk with local artisans, learn about their techniques and be dazzled by the richness of Peruvian crafts and textile art, here is an excellent place to buy those Memories for all our loved ones, make the most of it, because the fine handicraft and textile pieces are really impressive.

Then we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq , located on top of a mountain. This wonderful place is formed by groups of terraces and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and on top of the mountain. Mix the landscape with the wonderful buildings. Then we will go to the artisan market where you can appreciate a variety of works from ancient times.

We will pass through Urubamba where we will pause for lunch, we will taste the typical Peruvian cuisine, with a good variety of dishes, including salads, soups, background dishes, the famous ceviche and delicious desserts.

After lunch we will visit the architectural complex of Ollantaytambo , a living town built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it against possible invaders. We will have the opportunity to walk through its streets and have a clearer idea of ​​how this military, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire.

After the visit we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival the hotel representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Always with a good breakfast accompanied by coca tea, we recommend that you only carry a small backpack to spend the night in Aguas Calientes (money, light clothes, documents, camera and personal hygiene items). So your trip will be more comfortable and quiet. The rest of your luggage can be left in the luggage storage of the hotel in Cusco, since on the return you will return to the same hotel.

After the visit to Ollantaytambo you will have free time until the departure time of your train. Time you can use to know the streets of the town and interact with the local people.

If you like to drink coffee, do not miss the opportunity to experience one of the best coffees in the world, which is produced in the Quillabamba jungle and you can find it in several of the Ollantaytambo establishments.

DAY 6

Machu Picchu - Cusco - 02h30m tour

In the morning, agreed schedule, our guide will pass by your hotel to go to the bus station, for 30 minutes we will climb 400 m along a zigzagging path to reach the incredible wonder of the world “ The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu ” known also as "The Lost City of the Incas"

Upon arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu with our guide, we will show the entrance tickets, and start with the tour of the entire citadel. During 02h30m approx. We will visit the main places such as: The Plaza Mayor , the Temple of the Sun , the Sacred Solar Clock known as “ Intiwatana ”, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows , the Temple of the Condor among many other attractions that has the wonder of “ Macchu Picchu". At the end of the guided tour our guide will leave you in an area that you can use to take pictures.

In the afternoon it will be the return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy your lunch in one of the many restaurants or if you prefer at the Sanctuary Lodge (lunch is on your own).

After lunch, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo (Depending on the availability of train departure time), the return will follow the same one-way route.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION

Since January 1, 2019, the rules regarding the entrance to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary changed.

Now the time limit for the visit is 04 hours with entry shifts every hour. Our guided tour starts 8:00 am, as the overnight will be in Aguas Calientes.

The visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu is a one-way path; once through a part of the way, there's no return to that point. Also, there's no re-entry, once we leave, we can't re-enter. Re-entering is only possible if your ticket includes the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu moutains.

In that case, you can only have a 1:30h guided tour, approximately, since it takes more time to climb the mountain.

Important Tips

We suggest you to leave your bags in the luggage storage of your hotel in Aguas Calientes, taking with you only the entrance ticket, documentation, money, a hat, repellent and sunscreen. On the return, you may get back your bags on the way to Cusco.

If the schedule allows, we recommend visiting the Chavez Ballon Museum, wich is the site museum of Machu Picchu. Admission from 12:00h is free, just present your valid passport.

In both low and high seasons, it will be necessary to line up to board the bus and the train towards and back from our destination. Our crew will help in order to save your time.
