Tour Overview

This is a special tour, because you will experience the wonderful landscapes and the best places of Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Puno and Lake Titicaca.

We start in Cusco and its most attractive and tourist spots, with the City tour to the historic center and then through the famous archeological sites that are located just minutes from the city.

Then, we will pass through the Sacred Valley, located 35 km from the city of Cusco, place that houses incredible archaeological monuments, craft markets and above all that still maintains the Inca culture in their lifestyle. Then at night, we will spend the night in Aguas Calientes, a citadel surrounded by beautiful mountains, which surround Machu Picchu, considered one of the seven wonders of the world, we will make the guided tour and learn better about history, culture, we will also know the points important, magical and mystical of the citadel.

We follow our itinerary, leaving Cusco to Puno, then begin our journey along the sun route, passing through the archeological centers of Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani, La Raya and Pukara and at the same time allowing the contemplation and admiration of the dazzling landscape of these places.

DAY 1

Airport - Hotel Cusco (Buy flights arriving in Cusco at the time of your choice)

According to your flight schedule, our team will receive you at the airport and we will go to your hotel in Cusco where you will be greeted with a cup of the famous coca tea.

You will have the afternoon free to acclimatize.

IMPORTANT TIPS ON YOUR ARRIVAL IN CUSCO

The first thing to consider when arriving in our city, is the height, if you feel very tired it is better to rest a few hours and when you wake up take quite a bit of coca. On the other hand, if you already feel well, drink coca tea, it will help you gain more energy and oxygenate the body.

It is necessary to exercise the body a little while doing light walks (you can walk through the Plaza de Armas, glimpse with the colonial constructions or make some kind of purchase).

It is important to drink plenty of water since the body is still acclimatizing. In the first days it is advisable to eat light meals, and then you can experience the “Cuy Baked” (baked guinea pig), the Incas consumed it as part of their diet. At present, Peruvians, especially Cusco people, enjoy this stew that is tasted only at special events such as birthdays, parties in Cusco, etc.

There is something you should definitely not miss, on your days off, visit the Qosqo Center for Native Art, a music and dance show typical of the region, it is a true show. This show starts at 6:00 p.m., but we suggest you arrive at least 40 minutes before the queue, as it is a very busy place. DAY 2

Cusco City Tour (Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) - 05 hrs tour

This day you will know the best places in Cusco and the surrounding area.

We will start with the Cathedral , located in the Plaza de Armas, it is the main church of the imperial city, it was built on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The Cathedral has more than 300 paintings from the Cusco art school.

Then we will visit the Qoricancha , in the Quechua language means “temple of gold”, it was the first temple built by the Incas, it was formerly covered with large amounts of gold and silver.

We will leave the city of Cusco and arrive at the Saqsayhuaman complex , famous for its huge lithic blocks of more than 150 tons. In the Inca era the temple was considered to lightning, "the god Illapa".

Next, we will visit the temple of Q'enqo , a place dedicated to the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can appreciate carved stone constructions.

Then we will arrive at the impressive Inca fort Puka Pukara , in the Quechua language it means Red Fortress.

Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay , where we will see the sacred temple dedicated to the cult of water that probably also had a purification bath function for the Inca rulers.

At the end of the afternoon we will return to Cusco, where we will leave you at your hotel or if you prefer in the Plaza de Armas.

IMPORTANT TIPS

The City Tour will start in the afternoon. You will have the morning free. Start it by having a good coca tea at breakfast and prepare yourself with a good pair of trekking shoes, as it will be a great help. We suggest getting to know the Plaza de Armas with its colonial temples, the Regional Historical Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Qoricancha Museum and the Museum of Popular Art. These places will make your visit even more unforgettable.

DAY 3

Sacred Valley of the Incas - Aguas Calientes (Awanacancha, Pisaq, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo) - 08 hrs tour

This day you will know the wonderful Sacred Valley of the Incas also called the Vilcanota Valley .

We will start the day visiting the artisan center of Awanacancha , observe the famous llamas, have the opportunity to talk with local artisans, learn about their techniques and be dazzled by the richness of Peruvian crafts and textile art, here is an excellent place to buy those Memories for all our loved ones, make the most of it, because the fine handicraft and textile pieces are really impressive.

Then we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq , located on top of a mountain. After lunch we will visit the architectural complex of Ollantaytambo , a living town built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it against possible invaders. We will have the opportunity to walk through its streets and have a clearer idea of ​​how this military, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire.

After the visit we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival the hotel representative will be waiting to take you to your hotel.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Always with a good breakfast accompanied by coca tea, we recommend that you only carry a small backpack to spend the night in Aguas Calientes (money, light clothes, documents, camera and personal hygiene items). So your trip will be more comfortable and quiet. The rest of your luggage can be left in the luggage storage of the hotel in Cusco, since on the return you will return to the same hotel.

After the visit to Ollantaytambo you will have free time until the departure time of your train. Time you can use to know the streets of the town and interact with the local people.

DAY 4

Machu Picchu - Cusco - 02h30m tour

In the morning, agreed schedule, our guide will pass by your hotel to go to the bus station, for 30 minutes we will climb 400 m along a zigzagging path to reach the incredible wonder of the world “ The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu ” known also as "The Lost City of the Incas"

Upon arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu with our guide, we will show the entrance tickets, and start with the tour of the entire citadel. During 02h30m approx. We will visit the main places such as: The Plaza Mayor , the Temple of the Sun , the Sacred Solar Clock known as “ Intiwatana ”, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows , the Temple of the Condor among many other attractions that has the wonder of “ Macchu Picchu". At the end of the guided tour our guide will leave you in an area that you can use to take pictures.

In the afternoon it will be the return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy your lunch in one of the many restaurants or if you prefer at the Sanctuary Lodge (lunch is on your own).

After lunch, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo (Depending on the availability of train departure time), the return will follow the same one-way route.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT

Since January 1, 2019, the rules regarding the entrance to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary changed. Now the time limit for the visit is 04 hours with entry shifts every hour. All our passengers have a guided tour during the 8:00 am shift, as their overnight stay will be in Aguas Calientes.

The visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu is one way and that having passed through a place can not be returned. In addition, there is no re-entry, if we leave the citadel we will not be able to re-enter. Re-entry is only possible if your ticket includes the Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain.

If your ticket includes the Machu Picchu Mountain, the guided tour in the citadel of Machu Picchu will be 01h30m, so that you have enough time for the trek.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Before going up to Machu Picchu, we suggest leaving your backpack in the luggage storage of your hotel in Aguas Calientes and only take the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, documentation, money, hat, repellent and sunscreen. Upon returning from Machu Picchu you can pick up your backpack and return to Cusco.

After returning from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes, if the schedule allows it, we recommend visiting the Chávez Ballón Museum , which is the site museum of Machu Picchu, admission from 12:00 hrs is free; To enter you just have to present your valid passport.

We must take into account that in low season and high season it will be necessary to line up to board the one-way bus Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu and return from Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes, as well as to board the return train from Aguas Calientes. DAY 5

Cusco - Ruta del Sol (Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, La Raya and Pucará) - Puno - 10 hrs tour and travel

In the morning our transport will pass by your hotel to go to the bus station to make the “ Ruta Del Sol ”, where we will visit the most impressive places between Cusco and Puno.

Our first stop will be the village of Andahuaylillas , where we will visit its outstanding and fantastic 16th-century church known as the Sistine Chapel of America due to the large number of paintings on its walls and ceilings. It has an organ decorated with angels and cherubs and prodigious murals by the famous artist Tadeo Escalante.

We will continue and arrive at the Raqchi Archaeological Center which was a Temple built in honor of the God Wiracocha . In these ruins, we will see remains of the Inca culture and the Wari culture.

The next stop will be Sicuani , where we will have a typical lunch.

After lunch, we will visit “ La Raya ” which is the highest point along the trip, it is the natural border between Puno and Cusco, where we will have excellent photographic views of the place watching the snow.

The last place to visit will be Pukara , where we will get to know a little of the culture of the old town of the same name that has lived there for 300 years, we will also know its Temple and its particular Museum.

At the end of the afternoon we will arrive in the city of Puno where our driver will be waiting for you and will take you to your hotel.

Titicaca Express Uncovered Lake (Uros and Taquile Floating Islands) - 08 hrs tour
