Tour Overview

This 15-day tour is a super travel experience where tourists can visit various tourist destinations in Peru. We will start our bike tour, visiting the agricultural laboratory of Morayy the famous salt marshes of Maras. Next day we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas and its different archaeological complexes. We will continue our tour by making the famous Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu on an excursion that you certainly never expected. To learn more about the Inca culture we will make a fantastic tour in the imperial city of Cusco and as final destinations we can know Puno with its incredible Lake Titicaca the highest in the world and Lima the city of kings.

DAY 1

Airport - Hotel Cusco (Buy flights arriving in Cusco at the time of your choice)

According to your flight schedule, our team will receive you at the airport and we will go to your hotel in Cusco where you will be greeted with a cup of the famous coca tea.

You will have the afternoon free to acclimatize.

IMPORTANT TIPS ON YOUR ARRIVAL IN CUSCO

The first thing we should consider when arriving in our city, is the height, if you feel very tired it is better to rest a few hours and when you wake up take quite a bit of coca. On the other hand, if it feels good, drink coca tea, it will help you gain more energy and oxygenate the body.

It is necessary to exercise the body a little while doing light walks (you can walk through the Plaza de Armas, glimpse with the colonial constructions or make some kind of purchase).

It is important to drink plenty of water since the body is still acclimatizing.

In the first days it is advisable to eat light meals, and then you can experience the “Cuy Baked” (baked guinea pig), the Incas consumed it as part of their diet. At present, Peruvians, especially Cusco people, enjoy this stew that is tasted only in special events such as birthdays, parties in Cusco, etc.

There is something you should definitely not miss, on your days off, visit the Qosqo Center for Native Art, a music and dance show typical of the region, it is a true show. This show starts at 6:00 p.m., but we suggest you arrive at least 40 minutes before the queue, as it is a very busy place. DAY 2

Bike: Maras, Moray and Salineras - 05 hrs tour

At agreed time, our transport and guide will pass through your hotel and we will go to the starting point of the bike trip, Chancadora , located near the archaeological complex of Chinchero (3873msnm), in this place we will prepare all the equipment to begin our adventure in bicycle.

We will visit the Hauypo Lagoon , we will pass through dirt roads until we reach Cruzpata , we will continue along a detour along a famous Inca road until we reach the archaeological zone of Moray , where we will have a guided tour.

In Moray we will have a light lunch (box lunch).

We will continue to descend and pass through the community of Maras . We will descend to Las Salineras , an important place where salt is still extracted by hand. Here we will have a guided tour.

After the Salineras, it will be optional to continue by bicycle, for about 20 minutes, to Pichingoto (this section presents a greater degree of difficulty).

Finishing this section, in our transport we will return to the city of Cusco.

The return to Cusco will be around 2:30 p.m., therefore, you will have the afternoon free to take advantage of Cusco.

Do not miss the opportunity to meet the Qosqo Center for Native Art, a music and dance show typical of the region, it is a real show. DAY 3

Sacred Valley of the Incas (Awanacancha, Pisaq, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero) - 10 hrs tour

This day you will know the wonderful Sacred Valley of the Incas also called the Vilcanota Valley .

We will start the day visiting the artisan center of Awanacancha , observe the famous llamas, have the opportunity to talk with local artisans, learn about their techniques and be dazzled by the richness of Peruvian crafts and textile art, here is an excellent place to buy those Memories for all our loved ones, make the most of it, because the fine handicraft and textile pieces are really impressive.

Then we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq , located on top of a mountain. This wonderful place is formed by groups of terraces and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and on top of the mountain. Mix the landscape with the wonderful buildings. Then we will go to the artisan market where you can appreciate a variety of works from ancient times.

We will pass through Urubamba where we will pause for lunch, we will taste the typical Peruvian cuisine, with a good variety of dishes, including salads, soups, background dishes, the famous ceviche and delicious desserts.

After lunch we will visit the architectural complex of Ollantaytambo , a living town built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it against possible invaders. We will have the opportunity to walk through its streets and have a clearer idea of ​​how this military, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire.

Finally we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero , where the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located, you can see its well preserved Inca walls in the main square. You will also visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the porch that was built on the basis of an Inca building.

At the end of the afternoon we will return to Cusco, where we will leave you at your hotel.

DAY 4

Classic Inca Trail: Kilometer 82 - Huayllabamba - Ayapata

At the agreed time, our transport will pick you up at your hotel to transfer us to the town of Piscacucho (2 650 masl), also known as Kilometer 82 , where the train from Cusco to Machu Picchu passes.

We will begin our walk from the checkpoint walking along the left bank of the Urubamba River that flows northwest of the Sacred Valley. After passing through some flat terraces, we will arrive in Miskay (2 800 meters above sea level) and then see the Inca City of Patallacta (2 750 meters above sea level).

We will continue our trek along the path of the valley created by the Kusichaca River , we will gradually climb until we reach our first camp, Ayapata ( Yuncachimpa ) (3 100 masl). Here we can enjoy the most spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the diversity of flora and fauna found in this place.

On the opposite side of the Urubamba River we can see the impressive Veronica Snow (5,832 meters above sea level).

DAY 5

Classic Inca Trail: Warmiwanusca - Pacaymayu - Chaquicocha

After a good breakfast, we will continue our walk (Considered the day of greatest difficulty). We will walk along narrow and steep trails (9 km).

Along the way, the landscape changes as we ascend (high and dry land with little vegetation).

We will reach the top of the mountain known as Warmiwañusca (Passage of the Dead Woman). We will observe llamas and domestic alpacas that graze on the Ichu (One of the few plants that grow at this height). We will pass through a forest inhabited by various kinds of animals such as sparrows, finches (local birds) and Andean bears.

We will descend to the Pacaymayu Valley (3 600 meters above sea level) where we will have lunch after 06 hours of walking.

After lunch and a short break, we will continue our walk (6 km), which in the first part will be a climb in which we will pass through the incredible archaeological complex of Runkuracay (3,970 masl) and then through the magnificent archaeological complex of Sayacmarca (3 650 masl).

Finally we will arrive at our camp called Chaquicocha .

DAY 6

Classic Inca Trail: Phuyupatamarca - Wiñaywayna

This day will be unforgettable because of the large number of archeological sites that we will visit.

Accompanied by our guide we will visit the archaeological complexes of the previous day. We will visit Runkuracay , which is a small structure similar to a Watchtower, we will enter the cloud forest and visit Sayacmarca a beautiful complex consisting of a semicircular building with different levels, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios and irrigation canals.

Continuing our walk, we will pass through an Inca tunnel and we will arrive at one of the most complete and preserved archaeological complexes and it is located at the highest point of the mountain, Phuyupatamarca which means: “The cloud over the city” where we can observe a sophisticated complex Composed of water fountains with a solid foundation and stunning views of the Urubamba River.

We will continue now down to Wiñayhuayna (2,700 meters above sea level). On this site we will find a country house with a restaurant, rooms with bathrooms and hot showers. Five minutes from the campsite is the archaeological complex of Wiñayhuayna , which is composed of an agricultural center with numerous religious and urban terraces.

DAY 7

Classic Inca Trail: Inti Punku - Machu Picchu

We will get up at 04:00 hrs, walk for 01 hr and arrive at Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol) , where we will observe the sunrise over the citadel of Machu Picchu.

After lunch, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo (Depending on the availability of train departure time), the return will follow the same one-way route.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT

The visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu is one way and that having passed through a place can not be returned. DAY 8

Cusco City Tour (Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) - 05 hrs tour

This day you will know the best places in Cusco and the surrounding area.

We will start with the Cathedral , located in the Plaza de Armas, it is the main church of the imperial city, it was built on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The Cathedral has more than 300 paintings from the Cusco art school.

Then we will visit the Qoricancha , in the Quechua language means “temple of gold”, it was the first temple built by the Incas, it was formerly covered with large amounts of gold and silver.

We will leave the city of Cusco and arrive at the Saqsayhuaman complex , famous for its huge lithic blocks of more than 150 tons. In the Inca era the temple was considered to lightning, "the god Illapa".

Next, we will visit the temple of Q'enqo , a place dedicated to the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can appreciate carved stone constructions.

The City Tour will start in the afternoon. You will have the morning free. DAY 9

Cusco - Train Titicaca - Puno - 10 hrs trip

In the morning our transport will pass by your hotel to go to the Wanchaq train station (Cusco).

We will travel by Tourist Train, with a beautiful landscape of mountains and snow, the trip will take approximately 10 hours.

It will be a wonderful experience and a different way to travel between Cusco and Lake Titicaca.

This trip will end when we arrive at the great Lake, where our driver will be waiting for you and will take you to your hotel.

DAY 10

Titicaca Express Uncovered Lake (Uros and Taquile Floating Islands) - 08 hrs tour

At about 06:45 hrs, we will make the transfer from the Hotel to the Port. At approximately 07:15 hrs we will leave by boat " Titicaca Express " south of the island of Taquile , where we will arrive at a white sand beach paradise.

We will walk through spectacular Pre-Inca landscapes and meet local families, their crafts, their culture and their textile activities.

DAY 11

Puno - Ruta del Sol (Pucará, La Raya, Raqchi and Andahuaylillas) - Cusco - 10 hrs tour and travel

In the morning our transport will pass by your hotel to go to the bus station to make the “ Ruta del Sol ”, where we will visit the most impressive places between Puno and Cusco.

Our first stop will be Pukara , where we will get to know a little of the culture of the old town of the same name that has lived there for 300 years, we will also know its Temple and its particular Museum.

Before lunch, we will visit “ La Raya ” which is the highest point along the trip, it is the natural border between Puno and Cusco, where we will have excellent photographic views of the place watching the snow.

The next stop will be Sicuani , where we will have a typical lunch.

Free Day in Lima

Free day to meet and stroll through the beautiful capital of Peru, we can make some purchases and also enjoy the rich cuisine in one of the magnificent restaurants of the city.

IMPORTANT TIPS

We recommend visiting the picturesque district of Barranco and visiting the famous Bridge of Sighs.

If you have a little more time, you can go to the traditional center of Lima and visit the Plaza de Armas, visit the Alameda Chabuca Granda, the beautiful Parque de la Muralla and take a tour of the famous Catacombs of San Francisco.
